Teach The Web Academy Calls

Teach the Web Academy

What are they?

Join us every third Thursday of the month to hear a community expert present on a range of topics that better our capacity to run educational events and teach the web.

How to get involved

These calls are open to everyone. Join in, share what you're working on, ask for advice and work together to encourage web users to become webmakers.

We actively promote using your video, unmuting, saying hi and asking questions but understand that not everyone enjoys this level of interaction. So we encourage participants to be comfortable and choose a participation opinion that suits the individual.

Times

We meet at 10am Eastern time. That's currently 7am Pacific Standard Time | 4pm Central Europe Time | 8:30pm India Standard Time.

How to dial in

The Teach the Web Academy calls can be joined on Google hangout. Lucy will send out the link the day before the hangout and we will be on the hangout 20 mins before the call starts testing.

You can mute your screen and your microphone on the small tool bar at the top of the screen. If you are a local cafe or school that has alot of background noise it might be advisable to mute your microphone until you want to say hi.

There is a group chat option on the side bar of your screen If the hangout is full you can watch and ask questions via Question and Answer box located within the google page. If you cannot see the toolbars immediately move your mouse over the screen and they will pop up.
