Powered by Mozilla
There has been ongoing discussion in the community about creating a Powered by Mozilla logo that people and organizations can use as part of their projects or products. We have been working on creating some guidelines to determine how the logo can be used and this page lists some open issues about technology that still need to be sorted out. If you have feedback, comments or suggestions about this information, feel free to edit this page or add notes to the discussion page.
Technology Discussion
If we're creating a program about Mozilla technologies to be used with the Powered by Mozilla logo, we need to figure out what technologies to include in that program. We need to be specific since we don't want someone to be able to check out one file from our repositories and then claim that their application is Powered by Mozilla.
Proposed Criteria
The following are proposed criteria that can be used to determine which bits of code to include in the program:
- The code should be an official and currently active Mozilla project
- The code should be included in an official Mozilla product or it should be packaged for re-use by other products
Technology List
The following is an initial pass at a list of technologies that meet the proposed criteria:
Note: This list is probably incomplete or it might include things that don't fit the criteria. There doesn't seem to be an existing list of technologies intended for re-use in other products, so this list has been pulled together from various community pages.
