People

The Boston Mozilla space is stewarded by Lyre Calliope (volunteer contributor), Sheeri Cabral (MoCo), and Brad Lassey (MoCo) while Sheeri is happily on maternity leave! Reach out to one of us if you'd like to come play!

Location

The brand new Mozilla Boston office at CIC Boston!

Mozilla's Boston Office recently moved to a brand new location at CIC Boston, a coworking space for startups with a bias towards non-profits and social enterprises. Staff presence is regular but small; check ahead via IRC and/or Twitter if you'd like to cowork.

50 Milk Street, 17th Floor Boston, MA 02109

The lobby is temporarily located on Devonshire Street, until the end of 2014.

Please sign in at the lobby. Once construction of the main lobby at 50 Milk Street is complete, those with a key card will be able to swipe their key card. Those without should still sign in; signing in is on the honor system, no ID is needed. Note that a key card is required to access the Mozilla workspace.

If you'd like to ship items to Mozilla Boston, use this address:

The office is next to the State Street MBTA station (Orange/Blue lines). It is walking distance from Park Street (Red/Green line MBTA - 0.3 miles) and South Station (Amtrak trains, buses, Red line MBTA - 0.4 miles).

To get keys

If you plan on having a desk here in Boston, contact CIC Boston 17th floor help <helpboston17@cic.us> and cc Brad Lassey <blassey@mozilla.com> You will need to provide your name, email, and cell phone number and CIC staff will generate a key card and account for you. The key card can also function as a Charlie Card for MBTA public transit service.

If you are planning on just visiting for a few days, also contact CIC Boston 17th floor help <helpboston17@cic.us> and cc Brad Lassey <blassey@mozilla.com> with the requisite information. When you arrive, sign in on the ground floor and visit the 16th floor concierge to receive an access key for the workspace.

Authentication is by global password and information is available when you get to the Mozilla Space

Amenities

There are surge protectors and extra Apple power adapters. There are also 2 mini-fridges with drinks and an assortment of non-perishable snacks. Cambridge Innovation Center Boston has multiple full kitchens with 2 fridges (one for personal food, one for public consumption) and plenty of coffee, tea and fresh fruit.

There is a Vidyo cart with the hardware for the Boston Mozilla room. To use the Vidyo cart - plug it into ethernet, plug it into an HDMI-enabled TV (the monitors in the cubes aren't HDMI-capable), and plug the power supply in. Then turn on the Vidyo box.

We do irregular snack orders, see http://intranet.mozilla.org/Boston for details on how to order.
