How do I become an editor?

Editors should be experienced add-on authors in order to perform their job well. If you haven't authored any add-ons, then you won't be accepted. If the add-ons you authored are not listed on AMO, you can still apply if you can provide evidence of your authorship.

Before you apply, you should read the following documentation:

You can apply by sending an email to amo-editors at mozilla.org with the subject "AMO Editor Application" and the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your e-mail address (same as your AMO account)
  • Which products you use (i.e. Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, Sunbird, etc.)
  • Which operating systems you can test on
  • Any experience you have testing or creating extensions
  • Who invited you to become an Add-on Reviewer?
  • Any other relevant information

You may wish to join us in #addons on irc.mozilla.org to start getting a feeling for how things work.
