Welcome to the Firefox OS Tablet Contribution Program

We've got a new form factor for Firefox OS with a whole range of new challenges, from design to implementation and from the top to the bottom of the software stack.

This program is looking for help from all of you, with an early focus on defining, designing, developing, localizing, and testing the core of the OS: Gecko/GFX, Gaia, UX, Productivity and System Apps.

Application for Tablet Hardware

By making hardware available early and broadly as possible to our global community of contributors, we can tackle these Firefox OS tablet challenges in Mozilla distributed and accelerated fashion.

Tablet Contribution Pathways (Getting Started)

There are many ways to contribute to this effort. The pathways listed below will help you get a feel for the different areas and help you get started with the area(s) you are most excited about.

  • Testing includes identifying and reporting bugs to Bugzilla and triaging incoming tablet bugs.
  • Localizing means translating Firefox OS for the tablet.
  • Patching includes writing Gaia, Gonk, and Gecko patches as well as writing automated tests.
