Schedule Update

  • 35 b6 desktop & mobile built
  • desktop beta 6 live
  • Flash protected mode should be disabled Feb 12
  • MSE call for beta 9.
  • About 50 bugs tracked. Many gfx & layout bugs. Some concerns about the overall quality of the release

Seems like MSE is causing a lot of our graphic issues

  • Report a bug about disabling MSE (if we decide that). Ask for a patch + try

And mention the change to Google to make sure that the youtube platform will be ready for our beta users in case we disable it

  • Bug 1128534 - Block new versions of Flash. Currently waiting for update from Adobe.

Aurora / Dev Edition

  • overall rate: 4.9 (should be <2)
  • Bug 1120331 (IPC, GFX-related) continues to be 25-30% of all crashes
  • Bug 1123544 (gfx::GetCairoSurfaceForSourceSurface) with 3.2% is also higher than OOM|small, could be OOM-related though

  • overall rate: 2.8 (when we should have 1.0-1.2)
  • GFX:
    • bug 1124249 (Intel, GL) is ~12% of 36.0b5 data, patch in for b6
    • bug 1116812 (D3D11) is ~3.3% - discussions going on
    • bug 1128179 (SourceBufferDecoder::WasTrimmed) is 3.2%, patch on m-c
    • bug 1089454 (D2D) is ~3.2% in sum, nightly fix not working for beta
    • bug 1081911 (RotatedContentBuffer::BeginPaint) is 1.7%, patch on inbound
    • bug 1114976 (AtomicRefCountedWithFinalize::Release) is 0.9%
  • Media:
    • It looks like many crash issues are actually connected to MSE and OOM conditions
    • Flash crashes are sharply down (but hard to compare plugin-only crashes in Flash with all-of-browser crashes in MSE video, and hard to tell at first glance if it's the sandbox changes or MSE, probably the former)
    • bug 1127173 (OOM in stagefright) is 2.3%
  • Shutdown hangs: overall ~12%
    • bug 1124880 (nsHttpConnectionMgr::Shutdown) is 1.3%

  • still looks good

  • bug 1108709 (libOMX, #1 topcrash in release and beta) has a fix on m-c (Uplift accepted right now)

Performance (Thu)
