Schedule Update

  • Review status of 37.0.1. Are we ready to enable updates for all?
    • Stability: Fixed what we expected.
    • UA: We are stable.
  • 38 Beta 2 desktop live
    • with suggested tile + reading list for mobile
  • 38 beta 2 mobile should arrive soon
  • 39 Aurora updates were re-enabled on Friday

Add-ons

Stability

Aurora / Dev Edition

  • Overall rate: 9.4 (target: <1.5)
  • Plugin crashes and hangs are also up significantly, .5 and 1.5 instead of .1 and .2
  • bug 1149358 (async plugin init) - 60% of crashes, top 3 signatures.
    • Should consider preffing off this feature if the fix for this bug doesn't bring the crash rate down
  • More plugin-related crashes following, possibly related to the above
  • bug 1151506 (startup, random-hex DLL malware) - 5% of all crashes

Beta

  • Overall rate: 2.0 (target: <1.4, <1.2 without shutdownhangs)
  • Plugin crashes and hangs are somewhat up (to pre-MSE levels) because YouTube switched us back to Flash by default.
    • 38 will likely be back to MSE on Windows and OSX by tomorrow
  • bug 1124249 signatures (Intel Gfx driver crashes) are back and ~13%, should be fixed in b2 by bug 1149954
  • bug 1144649 (large OOMs with JS signatures) are ~7% and a bit of a mystery, maybe potentially related to the above as they are mostly on Intel graphics as well
  • bug 1138520 (shutdownhang in dom::ContentParent::Observe) is back with 2.2%
  • Security bug 1128064 (plugin-related) is 1.4%
  • Will need to see where b2 comes in with that top-level GFX crash solved, but we need to work on everything we can (see below).

Release

  • Overall rate: 1.4 (36 was at ~1.2, 35 was at 0.8-0.85)
  • Not really any things in the stats that we didn't see in beta
    • We really need to get our crash issues fixed in the beta cycle (and ideally before).

Mobile

  • 37.0.1 seems to be about as stable as 37.0 seems like we just pushed the EverySecondTelemetryCallback_s signature around
