Previous Actions

Schedule Update

  • 39.0.2 fennec built (partner fix)
  • discussion about a potential 39.0.1 desktop
    • bug 1181130 - edit issue
      • check with Ehsan
    • bug 1170746 - crash seems quite rare
    • bug 1175863 - Google maps API issue triggered by one of our change.
    • bug 1181737 - yontoo - no fix yet
  • 40 beta 4 built for desktop (sign off received) & fennec (partial sign off)

Add-ons

  • [Bug 1182751] Flash block done. Flash update was released this morning (except for Linux?)
  • [Bug 1183369] Java block pending QA. There's an update slated for today and plugin check is pending update also.

Stability

  • Flash crashes have increased significantly, to about double what it was before, across channels (but mostly visible on release) in the last week or two. At the same time, we are missing Flash symbols so we don't even know if it's the generic signature or a special one. We don't know what causes that higher Flash crash rate but it's surely a bad experience for users.
    • was it mentioned on the flash coordination ML?

Aurora

  • Overall rate: 2.5 (target: <1.5) - content/browser: 1.8/1.7
  • still quite a bit of volume in a11y+e10s
    • Can we filter this out to get a read on Aurora with e10s disabled?
      • Can't filter because we don't know which ADI have e10s enabled

Beta

  • Overall rate: 1.24 (target: 1.2-1.4)
  • bug 1159751 (gfx shutdownhangs) are 4.4% in 40.0b3, we had a wrong patch so not fixed even for b4 yet :(
  • bug 1182176 (IDM: Internet Download Manager) is 1.5% and #1 in Top Crash Scores
  • bug 1181735 (AudioMixer::FinishMixing) is 1% and #2 Score, should be fixed in b4
  • bug 1182197 (dom::Promise::MaybeSettle) is 1%, probably dupe of bug 1178271
  • noteworthy sub-1% bugs: 1182207, 1181714, 1182247

Release

  • Overall rate: 1.02
  • No surprises. The adware crash we did scramble for around 39 release is decreasing in frequency now that most people have updated, and bug 1181737 (randomly-named DLLs ending in .xpi) seems to have disappeared, probably updates of that adware shipped.

Beta

  • concerns about Hello Conversation Context - many issues, even if each is small it's a high number
    • Mark Banner "At a glance a lot of the issues look more like polish issues than functional issues, i.e. small fixes. "
    • We should push that to 41
