QE

  • Please remember to test and mark affected/unaffected for new regressions (and also add the regression keyword)
    • [Andrei] We'll be extra careful.
  • [desktop] [Andrei] 46.0 RC2 (build4) is GREEN for release. Testing has also been started on ESR 45.1 and ESR 38.8.
    • All the security fixes that required our attention, per :mwobensmith's request, have been verified.
  • [desktop] [Andrei] FHR v2 eol testing completed, no blockers found - details here: https://goo.gl/44mLXs.
  • [desktop] [Andrei] We received a new request from :ianb and :mardak for testing a specific Hello functionality - details here: https://bugzil.la/1239965.
    • We don't have the bandwidth to carry out this request, at least in the upcoming days, as we're currently focusing on the RC and ESR candidates.
    • I've spoken with :RaresB, who's leading the EngQA team, to see if they might be able to cover it in our stead.
  • [mobile] Working on sining off Fennec 46 Beta 13 and preparing for the RC build

Nightly

  • [desktop] [Andrei] Hello 1.3 is currently being tested by the EngQA team on Fx48, as at this point we only have the bandwidth to assist/review the testing conducted for it.
  • [desktop] [Andrei] Our team is going to help test a new project: Devtools.html (Fx49). We're currently discussing details with Marco Mucci.
  • [mobile] From Margaret's mail: There is some database migration code that landed in yesterday's Nightly (bug 1046709), and it's causing crashes (bug 1266162), but also severe performance problems (bug 1266232).

User Advocacy

  • interesting report from UA survey that the majority of beta users surveyed didn't realize they were on beta, and they also complain that they get too many updates. (!)
    • There are different ways to address this feedback - make updates quieter, improve beta stability, move people to release

Roundtable

Special Topics

Aurora/Beta Feature Review

  • Bug 1265944 - Enable rust for win32 on Firefox 47
    • Small chance of increased OOM crashes. Asking devs whether this could affect e10s experiment and their goal of investigating and reducing OOM crashes
    • Pilot code only affects video playback scenarios. Waiting to confirm that.
