Schedule Update

Current releases dashboard:

  • 62.0b13 (DevEd, Desktop, Fennec) pushed to Beta today, has the fix for PBM usage bug 1477042
  • 61.0.2 might be driven by bug 1477042, planning a PBM usage shield study on release channel

Off-train releases

Current Shield studies:

firefox nightly summary score: 4.20, last week 4.19

firefox beta summary score: 2.94, last week 3.04

  • AsyncShutdownTimeout | profile-change-teardown | Extension shutdown: - 12.3% of browser crashes
    • patch not applying to beta, needs some rework (some of the crashes are also continuing after the patch landed on nightly)

firefox release summary score: 2.34, last week 2.41

  • Crash rate is calculated based on usage hours (the time Firefox is actively used).
  • Usage hours will be significantly lower on Fennec than on desktop Firefox, so we can't compare mobile rates to desktop rates.
  • Release

fennec release summary score: 28.40, last week 28.52

Andrew Sutherland also filed a bug based on his suspicions:

  • Beta

fennec beta summary score: 32.30, last week 32.71

  • Nightly

fennec nightly summary score: 60.23, last week 60.48

    • Top crash is now resolved fixed
    • #3 top browser crash, may need to re-triaged if we think it would increase when it hits release.
    • Google Play store data does show ANR/Crash rate declining after a large spike on 7-19
    • Note: Rate for nightly doesn't show much of a downward trend, even though the crashes have decreased. Pascal asked Will if he could have the rate calculated differently so that we could account for this difference in nightly.
