Georgian on the Mac? [edit]
The current build requires user to install a Font after installing Firefox. This is not a great user experience so we've been searching for alternatives. Another option is to bundle Fonts for the Mac as part of install procedure - this is not easy to implement technically and has legal issues also. We concluded this is a product then licensing then technical question. Starting spot is to ask Rob Strong ACTION: Axel
All-Hands agenda [edit]
We have an upcoming All Hands meeting in Mountain View in August. Given this is an opportunity when all (or most) the L10n-drivers are in one location, we'd like to propose some objectives to achieve.
- User experience in general (and including AMO); getting and installing localized builds across different use cases - propose 1 dedicated hour to discuss towards improving this experience
- Preparation/expectations for upcoming string freeze and next build stages, dedicated 1 hour
- Extend invitation to PKim, Shaver and John and possibly Basil
- Everyone should block Friday 9-noon for L10n related items for the week of the All Hands
New localizations [edit]
- Rishi - PascalC hooked him up to Russian and Turkish teams
- Documentation is almost completed, Gerv will likely be in a position to start triaging next week
QA [edit]
CTalbert is almost done Minotaur tool, should be ready by next week. This tool will provide useful information to localizers about branding specifications of their builds.
Other [edit]
- Turkish ISP issues: Reed has changed access and hopefully it will work now to see if this solution addresses spam issue we were having with ISP.
- Swedish: Web localizer for Swedish decided to stop working on Mozilla project.
- Spain trip where Pascal will be talking about how to organize community and Mozilla organization
- Mongolian localizer will start working on website to gather people who are interested in that localization (all volunteers are currently experiencing University exams so will be delayed 3 weeks)
