Development Updates


  • We released Thunderbird 1.0.8, and the Mozilla Suite 1.7.13 on Fri. Yay!!
  • This should be the last release for the 1.0.x and Suite 1.7.x lines. Yay!!
  • Firefox Y! CJK builds were generated on Fri. Testing should be completed by Tues.
  • The Thunderbird 1.0.8 Ja locale build will be tested and released this week. That is a localizer-built release that we host.


FF 2.0

  • A2 planned for May 9
  • Places has been deferred from FF2
  • All information updated here

TB 2.0

  • 2.3 million software updates to Thunderbird over the weekend
  • An additional 100,000 new complete downloads of
  • Many thanks to Tim, Paul, Marcia, Jay, Tracy, Bob, Rob and the rest of the QA team for all their hard work in helping us get and 1.0.8 out the door last week. Great job!

  • Jay and Juan attending Exploratory Testing workshop at Computer History Museum today and tomorrow
  • Trying to start/collect discussion of testing and test tools in mozilla.dev.quality newsgroup/mailing list

IT Updates

  • Working on planning for various marketing events
  • MediaWiki updates
    • 1.6 upgrades
  • Planning VMWare migrations for build
  • CVS server -> new hardware
    • Cutover is planned for Tuesday
  • Continued work on stats
  • Continued work on network/colo buildout
    • Estimating 1-2 months until first server migration.
    • Cage build out, network gear, contract negotiations, circuit turn-up
    • Working on VPN solutions

Marketing Updates

  • Firefox Flicks winners will be announced Thursday at awards event in San Francisco at the Kabuki Theater from 2-4pm. Event will include a reception and panel discussion on community created video. Everyone is invited to attend. Please RSVP to our event coordinator Debbie Litle at mailto:firefoxflicks@yahoo.com.
  • Scheduling Spread Firefox meeting to review first mainstream outreach program, and collect feedback. Pkim is contacting SFX members directly, shooting for Tue/Wed. this week.
