Fórum Internacional Software Livre (FISL) takes place from April 17 - 19, 2008 in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

Attendees

If you plan on joining us at FISL, please leave a note at FISL:2008:Attendees.

What is FISL

FISL is an event sponsored by Associação Software Livre (Free Software Association), a Brazilian NGO that promotes free software adoption and contribution. This will be the 9th year of FISL and the conference has grown to over 5,000 participants. It takes place every year in Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande Do Sul, the most southern state of Brazil. FISL draws FOSS contributors, students, researchers, IT professionals, government officials and more.

Mozilla Workshop

Mozilla developers and contributors, as well as people looking to get involved, will have a dedicated room to hold talks and sessions. A list of sessions has been assembled, but we'd like your input on what subjects should be covered. FISL:Workshop

Extensions Workshop

A workshop will be taking place aimed at developers who wish to update their extensions for the upcoming Firefox 3 release. It is not exclusive to Firefox extensions, authors of extensions for other Mozilla-based software are welcome.

NEW Also, a mini-workshop on Mozilla Sunbird/Lightning development is planned. The workshop will probably take place after the Calendar Project Talk on Saturday, some time around 16:15. If interest is big, it might be done together with the Extensions Workshop on Sunday. If you would like to attend, please add yourself to the correct list on the workshop page with your preference of time and interest.

Booth

There will be a table manned by Clauber Stipkovic Halic and Mário Rinaldi. The goal is two-fold: 1) to answer questions about Firefox and Mozilla and 2) distribute merchandise.

Community Party

A get-together will be held for current and interested community members during the conference. FGV is working to select a location.
