- Figure out a way to designate "latest"
- Drastically reduce # of text files to reduce lag time for sync (5 minutes? 30 minutes? 1 hour?)
- Reduce # of snippet files by...
- Garbage collection -- delete unused snippets
- Consolidation -- map incoming versions onto "latest" update
- Symlinks -- if two directories contain the same data, symlink instead of creating new files
- Find new ways to sync
- Have releng system write to phx in addition to MPT
- Continue to rely on 24 hr .tar to make sure there aren't discrepancies
- Questions
- when does this have to be done by -- do we have time to get rhelmer on board and to it right, or should we push for plan b
- what is a reasonable goal in either case given that it's sept 9
- talk to derek about writing directly to AUS fs in phx
