could have code generate the different data necessary for the versions and then have hooks that switch back and forth. glob thinks that method would sacrifice run time performance for the sake of deprecated methods.

• liz asks about user profile push - it needs scheduled downtime and may or may not happen aug. 24th. no one is sure.
