Bugzilla:Meetings:2017-09-06
From MozillaWiki
- Appoint note taker and get them editing the Etherpad
- Gerv
- Current release status
- Dylan is resigned to the fate that he needs to actually learn how to do a release, and do one.
- We need a new release on the 6.0 branch and the latest stable (5.0.4) before we can go ahead with the big plan
- No idea when I'm going to find time; let's see if Hurricane Irma provides some.
- He will only do what he thinks necessary to actually get the release out of the door
- People have been having issues with File::Slurp; need to fix that
- Current release-critical challenges
- See above - process rather than bugs
- Dylan's plan for redirecting development
- Subcomponents feature from BRC may come to the master branch after the split
- There is a community member interested in porting it
- As of the 6.0 release, the primary release artifact will be a Docker container
- Getting rid of infra - progress?
- We need to get all our stuff out of SCL3 by July of 2018
- List of services to preserve is in the July meeting notes:
- updates.bugzilla.org (S3 bucket fronted with Cloudfront so we get web stats still?)
- Bots
- Mailing lists (developers@ and security@ and announce@)
- Email addresses
-
developers@ can just use the Mozilla mirror, so the last two are just an email aliases file-- Not so, because we still need announce@ - updates.bugzilla.org could be a Github pages site of maximal simplicity (HTTP only, though)
- Once we are on our own infra, we can be more generous with permissions for doing stuff
- Gerv's Special Surprise
- http://bugzilla.github.io/ - a Jekyll version of our web site!
- Nearly done - just a few more things to fix
- No longer migrating to Wordpress; this is the new way forward
- Remove Donate link, as we can't take Bugzilla-specific donations any more
- Don't need the version -> version changes page
