Firefox Flicks Community Activities

2013

We're ramping up for the next Firefox Flicks competition. As you know, last year we so many amazing submissions telling the story of Firefox. This year we’re doing it all again, with a focus on telling the world about FirefoxOS and we need your help!

We’re putting together a global marketing group to help promote Firefox Flicks and encourage entries from North America, LATAM, Europe, Asia/Pacific and Africa. It will be an extended campaign, running from the end of January until the beginning of September.

Throughout the campaign we will be doing regionally focused marketing campaigns. These will coincide with film festivals around the world with the intention of encouraging early entries. Entrants who win prizes at these regional festivals will have the opportunity to be highlighted at the final Flicks event in September.

There are a variety of activities we have planned from social media outreach, presentations at film schools, posting flyers, making videos, helping with e-mail content and maybe some stunts. Every region is unique and will provide us with different opportunities to encourage people to make their own flick or view/vote on flicks on firefoxflicks.org.

What’s in it for you? Tons of fun for starters. Plus, helping out with this kind of campaign will give you an opportunity to work on public speaking skills, event management skills or gain experience working on social media for an integrated, global campaign. It’s also a great opportunity to get creative and help filmmakers get excited about telling the FirefoxOS story.
