My name is Dave Hylands, and I started working for Mozilla in March 2012 as a System Engineer on the Boot2Gecko team.

I'm interested in robotics, metal working and wood working. You can find out more on my personal website.

I live about half-way between Vancouver, British Columbia, and Calgary, Alberta, in a small little community called Blind Bay, located on the Shuswap Lake.

In the winter time, I like to go sledding (term that the locals use for snowmobiling). This photo was taken on Adam's Plateau, and the cabin you see in the background is an old logging cabin called the "Wolf's Den". There is about 6 feet of snow on the ground. That's me in the photo, and my Polaris Dragon 800 RMK with 163" track in the foreground.

In the summer time, I like to go quadding. This shot was taken at the same spot as the one above. The Wolf's Den cabin is actually on stilts, which puts the floor about 4 feet off the ground. That's my Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI in the center.

The countryside is totally spectacular here. This shot was taken from a mountain overlooking Blue Lake. Those are the Rocky Mountains off in the distance. It looks like this for all 360 degrees.

Things are also quite pretty in the winter time. This shot was taken in late April, and there is still close to 8 feet of snow on the ground (up in the mountains).
