Created by Mozilla's Crayon Boy (Visual Designer), Sean Martell, the drumbeat logo was created to represent a the energy of millions of people as stewards of the open web.

The drum metaphor was chosen because a drumbeat is something that inspires people to move, it can be built upon, remixed or interpreted according to individual tastes and ideas and it's something people understand all over the world.

The drumbeat logo is a visual cue to get people around the world tapping their toes to the drumbeat of the open web.

Sean chose the Japanese Taiko drum as his inspiration for the primary logo. As new drumbeats are created (like Bongo, Conga, etc) each drum can be customized with the Mozilla logo.
