Festival2012/Submit/ZombiesRun
- Title of session: Zombies, Run! Technology in iOS and Android development
- Your name and affiliation: Luis Ibáñez - Smartphone developer at Six To Start
- Session format: Fireside Chat
What will your session or activity allow people to make, learn or do?
Zombies, Run! is a multiplatform game designed to transform running into a fun activity.
This will consist of sharing our experiences of the Zombies, Run! development, the differences between Android and iOS, and how we have solved the same problems on different platforms with different solutions.
We propose as topics:
* Accelerometer tracking * Location services * Graphic libraries (cocos2d, andengine) * Persistence framework * ...
How do you see that working?
After a little introduction, participants will be able to ask questions about the development and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the solutions we found.
How will you deal with 5, 15, 50 participants?
As I would like to organize most of the time as a conversation, so long as there are no problems about participants being willing to take turns speaking, large numbers shouldn't be a problem. With smaller groups, the discussion can be more focussed and collaborative.
How long within your session before someone else can teach this?
As I'm going to talk about a large number of topics in smartphone development based on my experience, it will depend on the complexity and the questions of the public.
What do you see as outcomes after the festival?
Better understanding of the process of working on multiple platforms and the differences between them.
