Firebug 1.8

  • Firebug 1.8.2 blockers
    • Should be compatible with Firefox 7
    • Release after 1.9a1 (Honza)
  • Firebug test-bot: Testing with SeaMonkey bugzilla
    • Some FBTests still fail (need to be fixed)
  • Issues to solve:
    • Issue 1811 Display Name (workaround for Salman Mirghasemi's work on automatic function naming) Can't be done for the profiler, to fix for stack frames (Honza)
    • Issue 4395: Inclusion of "Firebug" in the User-Agent WONT FIX
    • Issue 4377: List of editors should be removed from Firebug Menu; decission: put the list back, make it context sensitive and create a new issue (Sebastian) about an alternative solution
    • Issue 4704: Resetting options doesn't work FIXED
    • Issue 4736: Large array puts Firebug into Unresponsive Script loop - limit multi-highlight for large element arrays (customizable through preferences) FIXED
    • Issue 4742: Feedback from Mozilla Review Process (global namespace pollution, non-namespaced IDs, undeclared variables, etc.)
    • Issue 4628: Pop-up windows are blank FIXED (AVG Firefox extension is causing problems too)

Firebug 1.9

  • Firebug 1.9a1, release this week


Memory Leaks

  • Bug 669730 - Firebug causes immortal zombie compartments
    • Some work still needed
    • Post a description about tracing event listeners to AMO (Honza).


Firebug Swarms

  • Working on Sebastian's local server
  • Integrating version comparator
  • No change in Bug 677690

E10S & Remote Debugging & Crossfire

  • Everyone should understand e10s
  • As soon as Firebug 1.8 is stable, working out E10S plan
  • Bug 666713 - Dynamic analysis of chrome->content operations in Firefox
    • Patch fixed, Firefox build successful
    • A lot of logs
    • Logging is working, now waiting for an XPCOM service, that forwards logs to JS for dynamic analysis


Firebug & Lite

  • Release Firebug Lite 1.4b1 DONE
  • CSS line numbers working (some performance problems to solve)
  • Release Firebug Lite 1.4b2 this week
  • Release Firebug Lite 1.4 final next week
  • Pedro to create a donation report (post on FWG).
