Firefox 3.1 Development

Development Update

  • full platform meeting notes available from yesterday
  • at 120 blockers without fixes for final ship, with an average find-fix rate of 20 blockers/week
  • 10 blockers left for b3
  • those blockers are being actively worked and pushed on while we wait for b3
  • Firefox team meeting together in Mountain View this week to work on opportunistic code sprints to see if we can leverage the open window of opportunity

Localization

Up to 7 late-l10n requests, bug 479645 is new in the list.

QA

  • First crashing sg-crit? bug (bug 479749) found using Mozmill automation only (whimboo)
  • Landed many fixes for Sisyphus and Javascript tests
  • Firefox 3.1 Feature testing progress:
    • Testplans (94% completed)
    • Testcases (92% completed)
  • 19 1.9.1 bugs verified last week
  • Beta 3 testplan pending builds
  • Fx3.0.7 -> 3.1b3 MU Trial Run testplan pending builds
    • Depending on timing, we may do a pass from 3.0.7 -> 1.9.1 nightly as well
  • TopSite Testing
    • Beside Running the Topsite Tests for Firefox already (see the wikipage and Blog Post for more information), I managed to download the Top 2000 Addons and will integrate this Addons into the Topsite Runs to find Memory Leaks, Crashes and Assertions on Topsites in Firefox. Results will turn into Bugs and testcases if possible! - Tomcat
