  • Team is working on a few 1.3/1.4 blockers

Talking this week: djf

  • New camera features are out of 1.4, but more than half our team is working on new camera features, because of a partner collaboration. An uncomfortable situation for us.
  • Custom ringtones are pushed off to 1.5
  • We might be able to land image memory performance improvements based on bug 854795 (decode jpegs at the size we want instead of full-size) in 1.4. Still investigating, though.

Updates:

  • Working with the gfx team to optimize some gaia apps to help with checkerboarding (calendar 972675, SMS regression 974081)
  • Investigating roc's virtual-list-demo performance on b2g (bug 975831)
  • If you are working on an app with a long list with checkerboarding issues, you may want to look at the demo and follow the bug

  • 1.4? is being agressively triaged.
  • Feb 28 blockers: 1 in review, the other in review today.
  • RIL team has lots of blockers though
  • 1.3+ blockers: 2 in review, 1 unclear but assigned.
  • Messages:
    • reflow reduction + usual 1.3/QC/1.4 blockers
    • WIP Navigation: Great job by Julien. Get rid of 'hash' change events.
    • WIP Composer: Now flex layout! Avoiding reflows and JS calculation for UI.
  • Contacts:
    • WIP Performance improvements around the list rendering
  • Dialer:
    • Way way less reflows when opening call log
    • First DSDS patch landed, others in progress
