Meeting Notes
Firefox 3.0.2 update
- Aiming for Friday code freeze, however the freeze may not happen
- 3.1 and 3.0.2 is aimed both for Friday
- locale's are potentially at risk given all that's going on
- keep we do patches as a fall back and look to have localizers do patches and land themselves (after review)
- Mic poke Gavin to see if he has cycles to help on search plug-ins
- Action: seth pings sam sidler to see if we can grab a few extra days for code freeze
Tools
- General positive feedback from Summit, adding links to side of verbatim, little things to do to make it easier
- Meetings with Dwayne and Friedel went well and things moving forward
- Next steps:
Adrian (intern, based in Mountain View)
- focused on L20n
- will do some compare locales, merge and fork excersises first to get a feeling for this
Testing
- Summit feedback from the session: different than expeceted, litmus was not bashed too much, windmill is not related to third party vendor testing
- gristmill may be interesting for l10n automated testing; team was really interested in coverage testing (open preference dialog and have to wait to be sure it's running), so good deal of code still to come; unifiying a framework with extensions that could be of interest to l10n
Community Pack update from Gandalf
- Action: Sethb ask Gandalf to provide update to team
- additional feedback to share "best practices" from localizers across each locale, Action: mic share this with Gandalf and mic ping Gia for further discussion
Quick quarterly goals review
- Add 5 locales to 3.0.x, will know more from Friday what state we're in
- Ship 20 locales with 3.1 beta
- L10n requirements document, Action: mic talk with beltzner briefly on general direction and then sethb organize working sessions
Other ideas or concerns
- Action: All, please add to Sethb's brainstorming document here:
