Firefox / Fennec updates

  • 3.6 in RC
    • no reason to do RC 2 so far
  • new locales
    • Starting to look at new locales.
    • Still need to get the Mongolian volunteers together, does it make sense to wait on docs? (yes)
      • Pascal would like to email them about web l10n
      • we will wait on docs till the end of this week before making introductions
    • Stas responded to Maltese
    • Shavian (en-shaw) - Pike will respond
  • rc3 for fennec will happen

Web L10n

  • Firefox 3.6
    • 57 in-product pages done
    • 17 still to do (10 of these are Indic)
  • Fennec
    • we have pages that are usable for a few locales (5?)
    • alex buchanan doing great job minimizing impact
  • EU Ballot screen l10n
    • done! :)

AMO

Productization

  • ml: no bugs blocking de-beta, but could use more litmus testing coverage. stas will ping Ani
  • chinese start page: stas to file a bug

Tools

  • Verbatim is back alive
    • SUMO
      • Content (wiki syntax)
      • UI - taken from TikiWiki to some extent, taken down from Verbatim
        • SUMO wants to move to gettext in Q1

    • trying to get jhiatt an hg account
    • preparing to create builds with jhiatt's and gandalf's patches to test performance

    • there will be lorentz and 1.9.2 l10n builds on dashboard, new strings will be marked as "missing" on the lorentz dashboard, and not marked as "obsolete" on the 1.9.2 dashboard
  • Bugzilla components (Axel)
    • discussion on whether we should do "Firefox Localizations" > "de" or maybe "Localization: de" > "Firefox"
