Meeting Notes

For the shipping app

  • Probably taking tip is OK for now
  • Need policy update
    • Issues include
      • When do localizers start to follow the ideal workflow when l10n-merge is in place?
      • Communication is needed
      • When l10n-merge is on, what do the build-l10n-release-drivers do?
      • Reasons?
        • Too tedious too sign off after each push?
        • Interface too complex?
        • Messaging hard to follow because of high number of newsgroup posts hard to follow up?
        • L10n-merge creates sense of security
        • String freeze code freeze window is way too slushy

  • Creation of the new "special projects" repo: https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/l10n-misc/trunk/

  • kept updating product-details patch for beta 7
  • minor fixes on mozillamessaging.com/mozilla.com/mozilla-europe.org, mostly visual fixes and strings updates

  • preparing chemspill release for this week
  • will be on PTO this Friday
  • Anthony almost finished updating the HTML5 SMIL based subtitling library, will keep using that on mozilla.com for fx4, browser support matrix to be discussed with engagement (-> ok for no subtitles for older IE that relies on the flash fallback?)
