Transportation between KLIA Airport and lodging

We will purchase your KLIA Express tickets online and email them to each of you. Please print them out and have them with you.

KLIA Express Information

  • KLIA Airport -> KL Sentral (transportation hub at city center)
KL Sentral Information
  1. As first time you arrive in KL sentral, you will required to get small change for purchase token at RapidKL train (or previous name is Putra LRT). Below diagram is show you 2 Routes and ATM area. If you already have Malaysian Ringgit you can use Route A and if you need to have change money to Malaysian Ringgit. You can use Route B to go currency exchange shop. Otherwise, you can find ATM machines as per highlight in box.
  2. RapidKL train is using token vending machine and it able to change language to English. Please remember which station you will be heading, for Airbnb is "Dang Wangi" and hostel is "Masjid Jamek". You can ask if there train officer or local commuter to get some help.

  • Arriving at the AirBNBs
  1. At the airport, after going through the custom and picking up your luggage, head down to level 1 to get to the KLIA Express train station. The non-stop service from KLIA Airport to KL Sentral station that travels for about 28 minutes. It departs every 15 minutes. Use the eticket sent to you from Peiying as your proof of purchase. This is a round trip ticket so you will need it again on your way to the airport.
  2. Upon arrival at the KL Sentral Station, find Putra LRT where the RapidKL Train is, next to the Burger King. Near the Burger King, there should be currency exchange or ATM machine. LRT takes cash only. Get small change for the ride.
  3. Board the Kelana Jaya Line heading to Gombak direction
  4. Get off at the Dang Wangi station (MYR 2.00/person/ride). This should be the 3rd stop from KL Sentral.
  5. Walk to AirBNB or from KLIA Sentral, take GrabCab or Uber. You need to be aware of how to arrive at your AirBNB from the Dan Wangi station. Please contact your AirBNB host if you need instructions.
  • Arriving at the Hostel

  5. Backhome KL is less than 3 minutes away by foot. Head southeast on Jalan Tun Perak toward Jalan Melaka. Turn left onto Jalan Tun H S Lee. The hostel is on your left side.

Regarding the KLIA train schedule, the first train departs at 530am and the last at 1am from the airport. The first train departs at 5am and the last train departs at 1240am from KL Sentral. Use the round trip ticket sent you through email.

If your travel time is outside of this window, use GrabCar or Taxi to travel between the airport and your lodging. Grabcar offers a flat rate of RM65 but requires download of the app, wifi or local SIM card. We will reimburse the local transportation expenses. If you are traveling with others, do your best to share the ride.

AirBNB Captains

AirBNB Captains are the first arriving and last departing people in each AirBNB. They are the primary points of contact between the host and everyone staying in the AirBNB. They're responsible for making sure both check-in and check-out run very smoothly. The following are AirBNB captains:

Ground transportation between lodging, venue, & restaurants

Reimbursements

We will be able to reimburse any KL ground transportation expense you have to cover. Please keep your receipts and turn them in to Jeff or Pei by Sunday afternoon. We will reimburse in local currency.

General Information for Kuala Lumpur
  • Tropical Weather: Bring an umbrella/raincoat. When it's rainy, it pours and soaks in 5 ~ 10 minutes; When it isn't, it can be hot and humid.
