Agenda - 5/1/2012:

The refactoring discussion on SipCC started Tuesday (5/1) at 7am PDT at Cisco with others dialing in. That meeting broke at 8:30am to have this weekly meeting and then it continued afterwards. A summary of the SipCC meeting will be available on the wiki after the meeting.

Because of the SipCC factoring discussion, this meeting was shorter than usual.

1. Discussed and updated the project map (which will has dates now).

a) Updated the getUserMedia node to show that it is backend support only. The real deadline for getUserMedia is June 5 because that is when Firefox 15 closes (and other projects like Camera API hope to use getUserMedia), and June 15 is the first dependency for getUserMedia on this graph. So if getUserMedia support is done and landed on m-c by June 5, the end date of this project is unaffected.
b) It came up that it's important to remind people that this is the Platform project plan. Not that there is a lot of front-end work needed for WebRTC, but there is some, and it is not on this plan. We may add it once we get a UX designer and front-end developer for the work.
c) The plan for this project map is
1) to start discussing our project plans this week with people (like at the Google office hours).
2) publish the map and a one-page "readme" to explain what the tasks and dates do and don't mean
3) to start updating bugzilla at the end of this week/beginning of next to match this map
4) to make sure this project map stays updated and doesn't mothball

2. Discuss any current blockers for people

  • EKR needs Randell to review gtest build patches and r+ them if they look good.

3. New item: We briefly discussed WebRTC support for Android and B2G

a) B2G implementation for getUserMedia will be very different than the implementation for Android or Desktop. Anant is working on a document that explains what we need for getUserMedia across all platforms (desktop, Android, B2G): "what we have, what we want, and how to get there." He hopes to have that soon.
b) Ethan pointed out that sipcc has no Android target

4. We are moving this meeting to start 30 mins earlier every Tuesday (i.e. 8am Pacific on Tuesdays), starting next week.
