Notes 7/10/2012, 8:00am Pacific:

0) Update on build/config status (Maire, Randell, EKR)

  • Welcome Ted - Ted will be helping us out with our build/config issues once he finishes some work on B2G.

1) Update on getUserMedia work (Anant, Suhas)

  • Waiting on DOM approval - Randell will try to find another DOM reviewer.

Update: got our reviewer. getUserMedia landed on 7/12. 2) Update on Media Management (EKR, Suhas, Enda)

  • Suhas has first implementation ready for review
  • ekr & suhas will meet - structurally ok - new revision tomorrow or Thursday
  • end-to-end non-embarrassing on Friday
  • not far from having media flow

3) Update on signaling work (Enda, Ethan, Suhas, Randell)

  • ICE integration into SIPCC patch has been committed to transport Integration branch.
  • First-pass of JSEP state machine: unit tests can do a complete offer/answer transatction.
  • Multiple PeerConnections item fixed by EKR.
  • Lots of SIPCC cleanup
  • ehugg to merge TI into alder/default today
  • Locking needs some looks (peerconnections)
  • Trickle ICE issues - put some of this in JS. (ekr? revise this description)
  • Need to support arbitrary number of streams

4) Update on data channels (Randell)

  • CVS server was down yesterday (power?)( up again today. Suggested they move...)
  • API looks good
  • ekr to import as patch queue
  • going to be critical path for Vancouver very soon if not already
  • Need to update drafts this week

5) Next steps on the landing plan (Randell).

  • WebRTC preffed on! Fallouts are miunor and mostly handled already
  • getUserMedia() next on the block; need to get it in ASAP - waiting on DOM r+
  • If DataChannel protocol close to final, start reviews with Network team to speed final approval
  • UI - we have a developer. UX is probably Mahatva (phonetic)
  • What do we do after 16 uplifts to Aurora? - talk to Release Drivers

6) Update on testing plans (Maire, Randell)

  • WebRTC on Desktop - QA Kickoff Meeting: Wed July 11 at 12noon Pacific: Maire and Randell will be attending. (What's the scope of the first release and what are the target dates and deadlines? How involved do we want QA to get in the project and when? What do we need QA to test and how? etc)

7) Discuss any current blockers for people or new items that haven't been discussed

  • Need DOM support - Randell will ask jst if there's someone who can help
  • Build issues - nicer/etc port work; put signaling in XUL with webrtc either in XUL (at least for now) or in gkmedias (and deal with the symbols.def issues) - per m.d.platform discussion; android/B2G build issues (Randell has it building but not passing tests). Testing - we have a lot of C++ unit tests and would like a better way to get them in and automated (c.f. Kyle's ideas)

8) What do we need to add tasks to this agenda? to the project map? https://github.com/mozilla/webrtc/raw/master/planning/webrtc.pdf

  • None mentioned

9) Any questions/concerns about the spec work or discussions on the list?

  • None mentioned

10) Some contributors (most of whom don't know anything about WebRTC) are starting to show up asking to help. (Questions like: "Do you have any 'good-first-bug?") How do we want to handle these requests without derailing our progress?

  • We think we'll be better prepared to mentor and suggest bugs and tests for new contributors in a few weeks, once the core of the code is in place.

11) Next week's meeting

  • Both Maire and Randell will be on PTO that day, but will try to call in.
  • Ethan Hugg (ehugg) will start the meeting by posting the URL in #media and will run the meeting.
