Agenda:

0) Status of Moving media/webrtc/trunk out of libxul (Bug 827985)

  • Turned off PGO, no further work currently

1) Interop with Chrome

  • Are there any patches that haven't landed in Nightly?
    • Bug 829757(ready to land)
      • Chrome->FF should be reliable
      • Site issues (patches to land, 2 mods to do by google)
      • Two quality issues
        • video delay (fir & nack)
        • artifacts
    • Audio delay?
      • Long audio delay
      • came in late last week, perhaps RTCP, perhaps some other patch. jesup is investigating
    • Video glitch (split screen)?
      • derf will look this week
    • apprtc related issues
    • Merging audio+video
      • ekr with support from jesup
      • get it working for now, revisit with roc on the API later
  • Where are we on preparing patches to land in Aurora?

2) Blockers to PeerConnection, DataChannels for Desktop: where are we?

  • What is blocking us from pref'ing these on? (Bug 796463 has dependencies now)
    • Move media/webrtc/trunk out of libxul (Bug 827985) <-- REMOVED
    • Enabling mochitests on m-c (Bug 825510) <-- Just Landed on m-i
    • Enabling the AEC (or at least having it available to turn on) (Bug 818670)
    • Audit/Clean up buffer handling in nICEr STUN code (bug 825927)
      • Nothing showstopper, be done in a day or two
    • Updating webrtc.org code (which causes problems for Android -- need to use Alder or some safe sandbox) (Bug 830247)
  • Need to sort through the audio delay, sync issues (are they largely due to bugs with processing the RTCP?)
  • Need to clean up DataChannels to work without PC connections and work through any issues DCs have on Android
  • Want to resolve open security bugs that are sec-moderate and higher:
    • Bug 824893
    • Bug 828147 - believed fixed by ekr
    • Bug 794707(hasn't been been audited/categorized by the sec team, but bsmith seems to want this)

3) gUM blockers for release: where are we?

  • UI: Bug 827145 (Dao) and Bug 825804 (up for review to gavin)
  • Not much else. A few tough to hit crashes and a small number of new reports that jesup needs to investigate

4) Android work/status

  • Does gcp have Samsung Galaxy S3 phones now? Yes.
  • Bug 832551 -- What's the plan for dealing with the new webrtc.org code?
    • Use Alder temporarily. Get the MWC demo code onto Alder and stable this week.
  • OpenSL vs Android JNI. Upstream ditched OpenSL.
    • Jesup and mreavy are talking to Google about this tomorrow. We hope to have a plan from them to fix this soon.

5) Discuss any current problems for people or issues that haven't been discussed -- or Any Heads up for the group

  • None discussed

6) Testing

    • [jsmith] Read the etherpad notes
    • [jsmith] The storm of b2g is finally calming down, so I'll be returning full force to work on this now
    • [jsmith] Next steps is getting caught up (gum bft automation, webrtc sample app I worked on to learn api and find initial bugs, and keep working through test defintion and execution)
    • [jsmith] Am looking to know what the MWC WebRTC script is

REMINDERS for upcoming meetings: 1) Interim meeting and work week : Tues (Feb 5) through Sat (Feb 9) in Billerica (outside of Boston), see http://www.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/rtcweb/current/msg05826.html 2) SIPit -- RTCWeb testing taking place Tuesday, Feb 19th. See https://www.sipit.net/
