Notes:

0) Last week was a WebRTC work week so we didn't have a formal team meeting

1) Blockers to preffing on PeerConnection, DataChannels for Desktop: where are we?

  • Bug 796463 has dependencies now
  • Ekr reviewed the status of open bugs blocking pref'ing on. All the bugs are getting worked except for Bug 834152 and Bug 835283. Ekr is planning to add instrumentation to get more visibility into Bug 835283 later today.

2) Blockers to releasing PeerConnection, DataChannels for Desktop

  • Bug 833217 (data channels) - Randell was trying to reproduce Bug 829899 and hit this bug. He decided to debug it while he had the chance

3) gUM blockers for release: where are we? All are tracking-firefox20.

  • UI:
    • Bug 827145 (Dao - no devices error)
    • Bug 835953 (Dao/Jesup - remove green icon when camera is no longer active)
  • Core:
    • Bug 829907 (Jesup - failure to exit on Mac when gUM is active)
    • Bug 837539 (Jesup - crash in Mac device driver during very fast start/stop of video)

Note - Anything that is deemed as blocking-gum+ for Fx20 needs to be nominated for tracking-firefox20, so that these bugs end up on release management's radar.

4) Android work/status

  • Video works, but needs more testing
  • 90 degree rotation can be worked around for demo by modifying the demo UI
  • Performance seems good on S3, a little jerky with less capable phones (especially on the phone that is receiving the video from the Android phone), but WE NEED MORE TESTING
  • Please help us out and take a few minutes today to test and report your experiences here: https://webrtc-apps.etherpad.mozilla.org/14

5) Discuss any current problems for people or issues that haven't been discussed -- or Any Heads up for the group

  • Nothing mentioned

6) Testing

  • [jsmith] Basic functional test automation patch for getUserMedia has landed
  • [jsmith] Heavily focused on the MWC WebRTC demo testing
  • [jsmith] Will do a signoff test run on getUserMedia soon
  • [jsmith] Next two automation items to work on:
  • We need to make sure we have decent test coverage before we release. Maire is planning to contact Clint and Bob Moss to get folks dedicated to this effort, and then we need to draft and agree on a plan/updated plan ASAP

REMINDERS for upcoming meetings:

  • SIPit -- RTCWeb testing taking place Tuesday, Feb 19th. See https://www.sipit.net/
    • in-person - options abr, derf, ekr
    • remote: jesup, ehugg
    • Will move next week's meeting to later in the week (probably Thursday/Friday)
