Firefox for Mobile 1.1 Quiz Challenge
Sweepstakes Rules Introduction: The objective of this Quiz Challenge is to learn how much users of mobile devices know about the features of Firefox for Mobile. There will be three quizzes, one per week for 3 weeks. All entrants who answer the first three questions correctly on a quiz will be entered in a random drawing for the Prize.
Sponsor: The sponsor of this Challenge is Mozilla Corporation, located at 650 Castro Street, Suite 300, Mountain View, CA 94041 (“Sponsor”).
Eligibility: No purchase or fee is necessary to enter or claim prize.
The Challenge is open to individuals who are at least the age of majority in their country of residence. Minors 13 years or older who reside in the U.S. (or 16 or 17 years old who reside in Brazil) are also eligible to participate in the Challenge but will be required to submit a signed parental consent form with their Entry. The Challenge is open only to individuals. The Challenge is not open to companies, educational institutions, organizations, etc. or to groups associated with such institutions.
The Challenge is void in Rhode Island, Cuba, Iran, Province of Quebec (Canada), North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Union of Myanmar, and where prohibited by law or restricted by law or regulations.
Employees of Sponsor and its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, advertising agencies, and the families and persons living in the same household as such employees, are not eligible to participate. The Challenge is subject to all applicable laws.
How to Enter: To enter the Challenge, go to our blog located at _______ where you will find a link to the current week’s quiz. The quizzes are hosted at SurveyGizmo.com. Follow the instructions on the quiz page, answer the questions (only the first three are counted towards your score), review the rules, and submit your responses to that week’s quiz (“Entry”). You may only take each quiz once but are welcome to take all three quizzes.
You must be the named and authorized account holder of the email address submitted in connection with your Entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Entries submitted will not be acknowledged.
Without limiting any representations or warranties, the Sponsor has the right (though not the obligation) to reject or disqualify any entrant or Entry if the Sponsor believes, in its sole discretion, the entrant has violated these Rules, any applicable Sponsor policy, or any applicable laws. No correspondence shall be entered into.
Privacy: Entrants will be asked to provide their names and an email address to help ensure there is only one submission per person per quiz, to help with randomizing the 100% correct quiz submissions, and so that we can contact the winners. The winners will be asked for their mailing addresses so we can send them their prizes, and perhaps for a telephone number to facilitate communication. Except as otherwise stated herein or as otherwise agreed by you and the Sponsor, the personal information you provide in connection with the Challenge will be used only for purposes relating to this Challenge and will not be communicated to third-parties without your prior permission. Because it is hosting the quizzes, SurveyGizmo will have access to your personal information, but it has committed not to use your information for any purpose and not to share your information with anyone else. Challenge Period: The Challenge begins at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) (8:01 a.m. GMT) on July 7, 2010 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on July 27, 2010 (7:59 a.m. GMT on July 19, 2010) (the “Challenge Period”). Within the Challenge Period there will be three Quiz Periods. The first Quiz Period begins at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) (8:01 a.m. GMT) on July 7, 2010 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on July 13, 2010 (7:59 a.m. GMT on July 14, 2010). The second Quiz Period begins at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) (8:01 a.m. GMT) on July 14, 2010 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on July 20, 2010 (7:59 a.m. GMT on July 21, 2010). The third Quiz Period begins at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) (8:01 a.m. GMT) on July 21, 2010 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on July 27, 2010 (7:59 a.m. GMT on July 28, 2010).
Prizes: Two (2) winners will each receive a Nokia N900 mobile device. The approximate retail value of each prize is $650. Winners are solely responsible for the payment of all federal, state and local taxes and all other expenses or costs relating to the prize not expressly set forth above, including any service plan. Prizes cannot be transferred or substituted and must be accepted as awarded. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in its sole discretion. Please allow 8-10 weeks for prize delivery. No more than one prize will be awarded to any entrant.
Selection of Winner: After the Challenge Period has ended, all Entries from all three Quiz Periods with a score of 100% correct will be entered into a random drawing for the prizes. The winners will be notified by email on or about August 4, 2010. Potential winners may be required to sign and return to Sponsor an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release, where lawful, within ten (10) days of the date of winning notification. If such an affidavit is requested and not received within 10 days, the prize will be forfeited, and another qualified entrant will be randomly selected as the winner. If a winner cannot be notified within five (5) days after his or her selection, or in the event of non-compliance with any of these requirements, the prize will be forfeited, and another qualified entrant will be randomly selected as the winner.
Decisions: All decisions regarding prize awards will be made by the Sponsor and are final and binding in all matters relating to this Challenge.
Odds of Winning: The odds of winning will depend upon the total number of eligible Entries.
Authorization to Use Winner’s Entry & Name: Accepting the prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to make public and otherwise use your name, voice, picture, likeness, opinions, biographical information, and city and country of residence without further compensation in any media now known or hereafter developed for promotional and/or publicity purposes, unless prohibited by law. Each winner also agrees to participate in and cooperate with any promotional activity and/or publicity relating to the Challenge as the Sponsor shall reasonably request from time to time.
Release of Liability: By participating, you release the Sponsor and its subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, employees, directors, agents, advertising agencies, and all others associated with the development and execution of this Challenge, from and against any and all injury, loss or damage caused or claimed to be caused by your participation in the Challenge and/or the acceptance, awarding, receipt, use and/or misuse of the prize, and you agree that these entities are in no way responsible for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relating to the Challenge and/or the awarding of any prize.
For the avoidance of doubt, to the extent that English law applies, nothing in these Rules shall limit or exclude either party's liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or any other liability to the extent such liability cannot be excluded or limited as a matter of law.
Acceptance of Rules: By entering, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements and all decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Challenge. Disclaimers: Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) lost, late, misdirected, damaged, garbled or illegible entries; (ii) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or any combination thereof; or (iii) any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Challenge. Sponsor reserves the right to: (i) permanently disqualify from any Challenge it sponsors any person it believes has intentionally violated these official rules; and (ii) suspend, modify or terminate the Challenge if Sponsor believes, in its sole discretion, that malfunction, error, disruption or damage is impairing or will impair the administration, security, fairness, or integrity of the Challenge. If the Challenge is terminated before the scheduled end of the Challenge Period, the Sponsor will determine the winner from all eligible entries received as of the termination date. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Challenge, or whom the Sponsor believes to be causing or attempting or intending to cause any malfunction, error, disruption, or damage will be disqualified. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any unauthorized entries, including, without limitation, any entries made through robotic, automatic, mechanical, programmed or similar multiple-entry, or entry duplication, method and to disqualify any person or entity using such a method.
Winner’s Name: For the names of the winners and/or the judges send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to "MOBILE 1.1 QUIZ CHALLENGE Winner List", attn: Mozilla Contests, 650 Castro Street, Suite 300, Mountain View, CA 94041. Requests must be received (not just postmarked) by December 31, 2010.
