Previous Action Items

  • ajuma to get in touch with jmaher about reftest/ipc
  • jmaher to follow up with ctalbert/mcote regarding how we are measuring the throbber start. it is a regression
  • armenzg to talk to Amy about getting an IT person to join these meetings
    • dividehex (Jake Watkins) is on the call
  • blassey to follow up with jmaher about what talos mem tests are (windows based?) so we can start getting them working on android. This would be adding in privatebytes in addition to the rss collection we do on tp4mobile.

Status reports

Dev team

  • bug 748489 xpcshell tests require write access to TmpD / TMPDIR
  • bug 749771 some xpcshell tests fail on Android because HOME environment variable is not set
  • bug 750817 some xpcshell tests in netwerk/unit rely on Xpcomlib property and fail on Android

Rel Eng

A Team

  • memory collection during talos testing. Currently we do rss for tp4m, there was a request for private bytes which doesn't make a lot of sense on Android, should we collect more than rss?
  • reftests on android native with browser.tabs.remote have many hanging tests and failures, :ajuma is looking into that.
  • Investigations into failures continue: [failure spreadsheet]
    • 21% failure rate

S1/S2 Automation

  • No news, still running

Eideticker

  • Priority issues being tracked here: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/eideticker-priorities
  • Three eideticker machines in haxxor in MV now.
  • Diagnosed issue with LG G2X dying: they're running out of power
    • Probably need to plug them into external power and either use adb-over-tcp or sutagent (probably the latter)
    • Sporadic numbers over the past few days have been due to this issue
  • Work continues on getting the Galaxy Nexus working
    • HDMI capture part works fine, but adb doesn't work when connected (not even adb-over-tcp: the connection totally gets severed when you connect the dongle)
    •  :wlach is having additional network connectivity issues when dongle is plugged into phone on his own network, not seeing this in MV though
    • There seem to be general issues with the MHL->HDMI dongles that we're using: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/20851-mhl-on-galaxy-nexus-is-frustrating/page__st__20
    • Going to try ordering "official" Samsung MHL<->DHL dongles to see if that helps
  • Investigating using the RCA output/input for Samsung Galaxy SII to capture a startup performance movie, will have news on that by the end of the week. Should have a capture of the following startup scenarios on both sII and galaxy nexus:
    • Android stock loading remote twitter page
    • Opera loading remote twitter page
    • Dolphin loading remote twitter page
    • Fennec XUL loading remote twitter page
    • Fennec Native loading remote twitter page
    • Google Chrome loading remote twitter page (only on galnex)
    • Just going to do these as a one-off using the black magic capture card. No need for automation here since this is only to get marketing numbers for the beta push. We can automate later.

Panda

  • Ted has been pulled off to work on Fennec build files so we haven't made much progress
  • We got a panda to reboot
  • Next step is to work on remote flashing and the MAC address problem
    • These require us to build our own kernel instead of re-using the existing kernel, so that's the next step
  • Slowed down the progress here to work on fennec build issues and eideticker move to haxxor.
  • racking solution
    • dividehex wants me to get 12 panda boards and 12 SD cards for his panda racking solution
    • I will order that for him

Round Table

  • New build targets
    • ARMv6 builders, what's holding this up? bug 723946
    • x86 Android builders, can we do this soon-ish? bug 750366
    • How are we going to bring up testing for these platforms?
  • why don't we have RSS data from before Dec 1, 2011? [1]
    • it wasn't landed before then
  • bug 748488

Action Items

  • ctalbert to follow up on S1/S2
  • ajuma to continue investigating remote refests and report back next week
