Internet Policy Townhall Discussion

Policy makers around the world seek to regulate the Net, in some cases to the detriment of openness, innovation, users, and developers. The Mozilla community of developers, contributors and users, has an interest in participating in these discussions and activities to fully realize our mission and values.

Recent work on Net Neutrality, SOPA and Do Not Track demonstrate that Mozilla can be an effective voice in key technology policy discussions in the US and abroad, but how we work together, balance coding with advocacy, and focus on global issues of concern is still to be determined.

Over the course of this year, we will host an open forum for the Mozilla community to share ideas, discuss concerns, develop strategies for collaboration and find new ways to leverage our expertise in the architecture of the web. Starting with LATAM, we hope for this to be an engaging discussion that highlights the potential of the community to participate in policy decisions that impact the future of the Internet.
