Summer Code Party 2012 Final Weekend: Show and Tell

Mozparty circle.png

This summer has been amazing: More than 600 events in 77 countries already, with thousands and thousands of people gathering with each other to learn and make awesome stuff, together.

And we want to make sure to end it with a bang. So, across the world, we want to bring people together the weekend of September 22nd to celebrate the summer, show-and-tell what you've made, and get excited about what's next.

Sound good? Read on.

Just like we did on our "Global Weekend of Code" to kick off the Summer Code Party, people will gather in their homes and community centers to celebrate what's been done this summer and build for the future (and maybe make something more, right there).

Here's what an agenda might look like:

Part 1:

Opening session with some sort of video intro highlighting a bunch of what's happened all over the world this summer

Part 2:

Share out some of what you've made this summer with people in the room (we're also working on figuring out how we can best do this virtually, so you can share out & show off beyond your event

Part 3:

Get hacking! Pick a Webmaker project you haven't done yet, and complete it before heading home.

And, of course, you're welcome to hack away at this agenda however you'd like!

These can be anywhere and everywhere. We'll be putting a few on at Moz Spaces around the world, but we definitely encourage you to host your own -- if you're interested, please just create it on as soon as you can.

Here's a list of some of the events we already know will be happening, though final timing has not yet been solidified. If you want others to come to your event, please feel free to add to this list:

  • San Francisco (at Moz Office at 2 Harrison St)
  • Toronto (at Moz Office at 366 Adelaide W)
  • Pune (at Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies & Research, India)
  • New York City
  • Berlin
  • Vancouver
  • London
  • Chicago
  • Tokyo
  • Osaka
  • Athens
  • …And many more to come!
