Responsibilities
Below are some of the responsibilities of an Participation Lead. Primarily your role is to communicate, to help brainstorm participation pathways for educational and functional support.
Your participation is valued and vital - please reach out at any time with questions or concerns, but we'll also schedule one chat (video or text) per month to ensure you have the support you need.
- Attend 1 1:1 per month with Reps team (or team member)
- Act as team contact for participants.
- Communicating with Reps team, about what is working well with the functional area collaboration and training materials.
- Communicating with Reps team, about what is NOT working well in collaborating with the functional area and training materials.
- Sharing thoughts on how the Impact Team can evolve to best suite the success of functional goals.
- Sharing thoughts on how Impact Team can evolve to better engage and reward contributors.
- If there are emerging 'roles' for Impact Team Members specific to their function area could be things like:
- Code Review Mentor
- Writing Reviewer
- Specialized Research Expert
- Suggest participants that are ideal as 'emerging' leaders in the associated functional area.
- Emerging Leaders demonstrate leadership and dedication to the functional area without any expressed role to do so.
- Emerging Leaders have good communication skills.
Recruitment
Recruitment is not listed as an item in above founding member responsibilities, because it can exist as a dedicated role in the impact team, or as part of the core mentor role and depends on mentor-interest and time available. Having said, that there can be a recruitment component to this role, should it make sense.
Duties include:
- Reaching out to other contributors who might be interested in a impact team role.
- Extending beyond the community to actively recruit people with the skill-set most needed by the functional area or impact team.
- Collaboration with functional area & Reps team to locate opportunities in education and training institutions with programming related to contribution-need.
