Channel Status

Beta (Fx 27)

  • beta6 released
  • We're having a general stabilty regression of 15-20% that we haven't been able to explain.

Aurora (Fx 28)

  • per bajaj from the Monday channel meeting, Metro will be going to release on Fx28, uplifting in beta cycle.

Nightly (Fx 29)

  • Metro: finished testing latest bugs from iteration #21; any updates regarding the BFT in Moztrap for regression testing? can we help?
    • Manuela to help out.

Automation

  • Mozmill
    • Still huge issues with jsbridge disconnects (bug 956315) due to a still in use socket after a restart. There are a couple dependencies (like zombie processes) we have to fix first and which might cause this problem. In the last days the rate went down a lot
    • A lot of Cycle Collector crashes are affecting us for 28.0 and 29.0 (see bug 959562)
    • Since late Dec we haven't had another Jenkins crash!! It might be that the latest improvements were fruitful
    • Metro ui and backend library should be ready soon to get landed in mozmill-tests
    • if possible (time-wise) we will run tests for more locales soon via rotation. See https://github.com/mozilla/mozmill-ci/issues/398
    • We are collecting our goals proposals here: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/firefox-automation-goals

Security

    • Testing TLS via automation scripts, looking good so far
    • Created VMware build image for ASan bug verfication, but Softvision doesn't have access to our intranet or VMware Fusion licenses, so I'll see if I can convert to Virtual Box VM
    • Possibly running behind in security bug verification, all branches. Will reach out to team in the coming week or two if needed
    • Working with contributor Nagasahas on verifying bug 950268, cert trust UI

  • Anthony to update Firefox release metrics for Fx 26
  • Anthony to update team on status of reaching out to Mobile QA about "effect of uplifts" - https://ashughes.com/?p=66
  • (in progress) - [juanb] Talk to web team (Raymond) to see if we can get news subscriptions for QMO
    • What are the options? RSS? Something not necessarily requiring QMO registration.
  • (not done) - [juanb] to run Add-on compatibility testrun using Mozmill. Chat with Henrik.
  • Follow up on bug 957091 (safebrowsing bug) for Fx 28 and 29
