QA Services (Marcia)

  • Meetups
  • Crash Investigation
    • CrashKill team met on Monday to review open crash bugs. Right now we are monitoring new crashes and getting bugs on file right away. The combination of Compartments work and Jaegermonkey has made triaging these crashes more challenging.
    • David Baron's page is useful in identifying new crashes: http://dbaron.org/mozilla/crashes-by-build
  • Community Planning
    • Design work continues on the "Making Firefox Better" workbook cover. The decision was made to use the Yeti on the cover.
  • Video Work

  • Tomcat
    • gave talk at Friday about Mozilla at the OpenSuseConference
    • also new plans for TechTalks next year
  • Accessibility:
    • Last major blocker, bug 570275 landed, we're working through some fall-out from that and are addressing bugs we're finding and which are reported. Noteworthy: bug 599814, which is no direct regression from this, but manifests itself esp with the default of OOPP enabled.
    • Waiting for some HTML5 support to land, David Bolter is going to land them after he fixes one remaining issue with a randomly failing test.

Test Automation (Geo)

  • Mozmill
    • Mozmill 1.5.1rc1 landed last week
    • Looks fairly good, though bug 607708 blocked chemspill update testing this morning

    • DOM Walker and L10N API are in review (bug 587819, bug 604411)
    • Shared module redesign is moving forward, tentatively using inheritance.js classic OOP model proposed by Henrik
    • Test cleanup/refactor on hold pending CommonJS work. bug 604703
  • Tools / Infrastructure
    • qa-horus and qa-set have been bumped to Mozmill 1.5.1rc1
