1.6.3 Sync Test Plan

Overview

A point release of of Firefox Sync Extension. Primarily Places and performance related fixes.

Testing strategy

• Verification, where possible, of noted bugs (delta to 1.6.2) - tracy:
  • bug 627490 - Bookmark sync: don't cache places IDs - qa-
  • bug 626796 - Bookmark sync: restore from backup should trigger reupload - verified
  • bug 627497 - Bookmark sync in Firefox 3.5/3.6: copied items need to get their own GUIDs - reopened
  • bug 610501 - Places smart bookmarks are mishandled by Sync - verified
  • bug 609380 - Password sync: don't add apply records with both a httpRealm and formSubmitURL or null/empty passwords
  • bug 620593 - Username should allow leading and trailing whitespace verified

    • bug 627166 - captcha dialog in some locales doesn't show Next button fix in 609160 was applied Fx trunk code not the extension
