Schedule Roadmap/M2.5/NetworkSettingsv2
From MozillaWiki
Feature Requirements
- Ability to connect to WiFi is something that needs to work robustly and cannot be regressed
- One of the key requirements for M2.5 is the ability for a user to select a WiFi network (both secure and unsecure) from a list of available SSIDs
- We will support the following: WPA-PSK, WPA-EAP (802.11x) and WEP
- The UI can be very plain and we just leverage what's in Settings today
- UX will provide specs post-M2.5
- The connection to the network that is selected should be remembered so it's not necessary to connect to the same network multiple times
- Ability to clear a connected SSID (nice to have)
- For 3G data, we should be able to connect to the default network for the SIM card on the phone
- 3G data should only be used if a previously selected WiFi network is unavailable
- Users should be able to turn off 3G data (nice to have)
- Alternative is to take out the SIM card if you run into a limited 3G data situation
