Solutions for Antivirus Software: Added AVG

== AVG ==
AVG can not scan SSL connections and requires you to set it up as a proxy and place the mail settings in AVG and pointers to the proxy in Thunderbird. [http://www.avg.com/au-en/faq.num-5224 AVG offers instructions here]

== McAfee ==
McAfee has had major problems with Thunderbird causing crashes and poor performance, "Not Responding", "Unresponsive Script", etc. (For example [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=13495577#p13495577], [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=12678533#p12678533], {{bug|592303}}). We recommend you do all of the following:
* Problem: "expanding or collapsing items (subfolders, accounts) in the Folders display often locks up TB completely and the progam goes into Not responding state. OS is Windows Vista Home Premium SP2"
* Solution: Upgrade to Version 9: "Bullguard asked me to upgrade from Version 8 to the beta version of Verion 9 of their product. This does seem to have resolved the issue. I am now running with their Spamfilter 9.0 enabled and (fingers crossed) everything seems OK."
