The operational environment for the NSS cryptographic module is a general purpose, modifiable operational environment that uses one of the following commercially-available operating systems:
* Security Level 1
** Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
** Windows XP Service Pack 2
** Solaris 10** HP-UX B.11.11, with the HP-UX Strong Random Number Generator (KRNG11i) bundle installed to add the /dev/urandom special file** Mac OS X 10.45
* Security Level 2
** Red Hat Enterprise Linux Version 4 Update 1 AS5: CAPP EAL4+** Sun Trusted Solaris Version 8 410 05/0108: LSPP, CAPP, and RBACPP; TOE EAL4+
