I think it would be very cool to have an area of the site to show off tools and projects that take advantage of open data, open content, and the open web. It would be useful to be able to point to it and say, this is the kind of thing we want more of, this is what you're missing out on by hoarding your data and content.[[User:Akozak|Akozak]] 22:17, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

I think it would be helpful to collect email addresses by asking people to sign up for a newsletter. Then on the confirmation email ask people to fill out a short (5 question?) survey where they identify their level of expertise, country/postal code, and a few other pieces of information that may be helpful. Maybe also include a "fun" question. Mozilla is fun with it's little monster and fox, so be fun:) If the data can be analyzed in real time, it would be cool to graphically display the range answers at the end of the survey (like with a map or pie chart). Each time people are asked to do something (sign up for a newsletter, fill out a survey) they should be told why the information is being requested and what they can expect by sharing their information. --[[User:Ginacooper|Ginacooper]] 23:01, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
