Talk:Firefox:Configurable Keybindings

From MozillaWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

It would be nice to have a place to discuss other keybinding issues, such as:

  • Default Keybindings
  • Default Behavior of 'Special' Keys, namely:
    • Tab / Shift-Tab / Etc.
    • Enter etc.
    • Esc ...
    • Backtick/Tilde (~) ...
    • -_ and =+ ...
    • Backspace/Delete ...
    • Er sorry enough is enough but you get the point.
  • Consistency/Predictability Issues:
    • How to close a tab/window/alert box/sidebar/find bar/etc. e.g. can you repeat the hotkey to toggle (like the history sidebar) or the escape key (find bar, alerts etc.) etc.

So is there a place for this sort of discussion?

Reason for ctrl-click option

Just thought I'd mention that, as a left-handed Toshiba Tablet M200 user, I grew quite accustomed to using Shift-clicking to open links in new tabs (using [Maxthon http://www.maxthon.com/]. I haven't found a way to customize this in Firefox which is quite disappointing--so I think adding this functionality to 3.0 would be a great improvement! --Rcouch 16:51, 18 May 2007 (PDT)
