Development Summary and Future Iterations
The future weeks are our goals for the iterations, so that we can assess in the retrospectives.
- Last Month
- Work week in Paris
- Various work on Talkilla including:
- Functional tests now switched to being driven by python, and much more stable
- File Transfer now works
- Various improvements to the conversation window, including mute and call timeout notifications
- Started on some server to client communication improvements
- This Week
- Make Talkilla 'Dogfoodable'
- Start work towards SPA API definition initial version
Social API
- subworkers made it to fx25
- large risk on one of the base patches for multiple providers
- set of working patches in place for remaining features
UX
- File transfer further UX needed now that it works (fail states, pausing, where files live)
- Have been meeting with Ascher, Simon, Ian on Labs/Towtruck to see if their code can be used for experiments - bookmarklet for TowTruck seems the best bet, is in active dev by Ian
- Making mockups on multiproviders running frameworks (see Social API)
Product
Goals & Roadmap Priorities
Diagnostics Website
- Website started for diagnostic tools
Meet-ups
- September
- Location: SFO
- Dates: week of the 16th
Stages of 'Dogfood' (Brianstorm)
- Current: a few users, mainly us
- Goal: Trial 500 users, probably mozillians
- How do we get there?
- Promote on a few irc channels
- Can we use mozillians to provide a way of finding people?
- Drag & Drop from mozillians website into contacts?
- if we could have hcard (or similar) data, that would be a nice way to support *any* contacts site
- Short term
- Feedback channel: irc, File Bugs?
- Better introduction page - First run experience
- Drive usage
- Error Messages for peer connections
- Minimal Error notifications
- Do semi-automated responses?
