Product

  • Backlog
    • Working on InstantShare clarifications for backlog
  • Estimation cards more-or-less ready to go
  • Good meetings with partners and receptive to what we've done
  • Starting planning for next year

Goals & Roadmap Priorities

  • Deliver a comprehensive and fully functional BYOS demo.
  • Build out the Talkilla platform into a stable, scalable and extensible platform, offering voice/video calls, InstantShare, chat, web content and file sharing in Firefox Desktop. Stretch: Build PSTN breakout.
  • Define Talkilla vision and plan for other Firefox products (Firefox Android and Firefox OS) and other WebRTC browsers.
  • Build communications and distribution channels to engage on the Talkilla value proposition, and ...find a decent name (someone suggested Mozarello (MozartHello ?) sounds delicious)

Risks

  • Enabling of Multiple Social Providers
    • Landed in 28
    • Not sure what the chances for 27 are
  • (long-term) Headless Social Providers
  • JSON crash when using real sub-workers vs. 25/27 interop issues
    • Fixed in 28
    • Being backported to all branches
  • AddressBook: Google OAuth2 integration
    • Landed permanent import
  • Talkilla Server Bottleneck
    • Showing presence for just a user's contacts would likely be a significant help

Meet-ups

  • Other meet-ups in Q4:
    • Arrange small hack meetings during the quarter
    • WebRTC Santa Clara (Nov 19th-21st)
      • We have 3/4 speaking slots during the show

Any other issues/discussions

  • Really good to see contributors getting involved
    • We now have a Good First Bugs column
    • Also adding to our documentation surrounding processes
