With the release of Firefox 29 on April 29, 2014 we'll be redirecting the default "Getting Started" bookmark from moz.org to sumo.

This will send about 26M visitors/month to support. That's about 1.2X total sumo traffic and 4.7X the number that come through the help menu. That would change SUMO from 80% of users trying to solve a problem to only 37%. The majority (63%) will be there to learn something - "Getting Started." This page will become the main entry point to support for Firefox users. Given that, what could we/should we do to optimize the page and website for this?

Goal

  • Work with the content manager (Joni), UX (Holly & Bram), PM (Laura) Creative and Sumodev to redesign the page to increase engagement (helpfulness, session time, video views, video viewing time).
  • Supports: Get Firefox on a Growth Trajectory & Add Services to our Product Lines
