TBG Check in

This the agenda and action items for the check-in meeting with TBG for WebifyMe, which took place on 2011-04-14 at 9:00am in Room 2G - GIGO and Conference #474.

The purpose of this meeting is discuss the current overall project status with TBG. We will get a development status update, triage outstanding bugs and identify action items for WebifyMe.

  • This meeting will be declared over at 9:25am.

Status Update

  • Each group member will give a development status update and identify blockers.

Bug Triage

Action Items

The following action items were identified and assigned in this meeting:

  • TBG will execute the outstanding bugs identified above
  • IT will boot up the stage server when bugs have been resolved by TBG
  • QA will begin testing after stage server is available
  • Security will begin testing after QA's first pass
  • Austin will add Webtrends code
  • Austin will file bugs for TBG to address PEP8 and multidb

Next Meeting

We will resume the weekly meeting time next Wednesday, 2011-04-20 at 1:00pm.

Localization check in

This the notes and action items for the check-in meeting with Localization for WebifyMe, which took place on 2011-04-14 at 10:00am in Room 3J - JibJab and Conference #284.

Attendees

  • Engagement: Grace, William R
  • Web Dev: ozten
  • L10n: Stas, Gandalf

Notes

  • There are hard coded strings that need to be fixed (bug 648814)
  • Many strings are in the database (DB). Proposed method of translating strings:
    • DB -> po file (for localizers) -> DB (for staging and production)

Timing

  • Allow 2 weekends for translating, 3 if possible
  • String freeze Friday april 15
  • Announce to localizers on april 18 or 19
  • Staged week of April 18, by Tuesday the 19 if possible
  • May 3: final date for adding new locales
  • May 9: freeze for translations in the morning
    • Can accept svn commits up until 24 hours before production push
  • May 10: Go live

Action Items

  • Austin will follow up with TBG about Q&A strings in DB
  • Stas and Gandalf will look into Webify Me code in next few days to make sure it's ready to localizers
  • Stas will set up svn repository, extract strings, and set up on verbatim
