2025-05-16 Thunderbird user travelled to Australia and somehow their accessibility software (JAWS) was downgraded which led to Blind Users not being able to click YES on a TB upgrade dialogue
- from an email from a user:
I traveled to Australia, and I think being overseas somehow set Jaws back to an older version without me knowing. I called Freedom Sci and they found it. It is my laptop, but they also changed to "Run for all users" in the general settings, which I had off.
- Support advice from somebody who knows accessibility
The minimum version I would recommend is JAWS 2024.2411.16 - ideally, nothing older than that should be used, especially on Windows 11. However, for best compatibility and support with current Windows and application updates, I’d strongly suggest using the latest available version: JAWS 2025.2505.43."
