** A hackish workaround for this problem (caused by an Apple bug, new in OS X 10.5.3) has been landed in RC3 and will be included in the FF3 release.  This will probably stop the symptoms (the hangs) for everyone.  But this bug can't be fully resolved until Apple fixes the underlying bug or we learn more about what causes it.
